Household Water Tank Restoration
Harankahawa, Kandy
Harankahawa, Kandy
This project supported a family whose home was severely affected by the December landslides. Although they received a small government grant for basic cleanup, several critical needs remained unaddressed—most urgently, the replacement of a damaged water tank essential for daily living. The household relies on two tanks due to frequent multi‑day water supply interruptions in the area, making restoration a priority for safety and stability.
After assessing the situation and confirming the family’s circumstances, funding was provided to repair their water system. A total of Rs. 37,000 was spent on materials, transport, and labor, with Rs. 25,200 directly contributed by the donor. Additional fittings were purchased during installation to ensure the system was fully functional.
This support restored reliable access to water for the family, helping them regain basic living conditions while they continue recovering from the disaster.
